Busy Holiday weekend

Well, Thanksgiving weekend is finally over! It's been a long one starting 10 days ago when grandpa Wayne got sick and ending tonight with a leftover turkey sandwich. As usual, I made a totally awesome Thanksgiving dinner - I'm not doing homemade stuffing or sweetpotatoes again. Made about 12 dozen rolls, 2 turkeys (always brine the turkey!), and lots of pie. I'm getting ready for the last two weeks of school. We'd like to go on vacation somewhere where the dollar isn't so cheap....that leaves south america and pacific islands....we'll see. BYU plays in San Diego this next weekend and we should make it to that and maybe Lego land with Mr V and Owen. I'm trying to improve my blog - I'll tell you some things I'm thinking....I'm applying to law school for Fall 2008, I miss Disneyland, and my car is running like a charm despite diesel costing more than a big mac. Ace of Base is on the radio which is a nice way to end this blog.

Abu Dhabi and Dubai Nov. 2006

About a year ago, I ventured out to the Middle East. We have a friend and her husband who live there (he's working as a cold-air engineer). I bought lots of stuff, had some great clothes made, and rode a camel! I highly recommend this place for anyone who likes unbearable heat, desert sand, blue ocean, shopping, and taking
taxi rides for cheap.

Disneyland Oct 2007

I flew down to LA to meet some of my super sweet friends. Betsey had never been to Disneyland so it was my pleasure to introduce her. I don't know why I have an infatuation with the place, but I've been strongly addicted for the last 5 years. If anyone is going there, I offer free advice on parking, entry, and eating. And I would really like it if you would take me with you.
There was a huge wreck so the freeway got closed and we had to head home early. We stopped by H&M in Las Vegas.

Sept. 2007 San Deigo RedBull Airrace

This is me with the helikopter pilot at a party on the USS Midway. Kara and Nick joined us from St Louis, and me, Tim and Harry flew down. We stayed on the Embarcadero, ate at In 'n' Out several times, and I saw some Toulouse Lautrec at Balboa Park.

Oct 2006 Trail of Tears - taking the Sauter's home to Oregon

This is David Sauter. His cousin Jimmy and I drove the 'Beast' to Portland while David and Rebekah and Baby drove the Yukon. It was the end of a dynasty - the Sauters lived in Bountiful for about 15 months. We only discovered them 9 months into it - and it was about 1 month too late. We were so sad to see them go but they've visited since.

We went to a wedding rehearsal dinner in Salem OR so we stopped by the Capitol! There's a gold man on the top.

Balloon Festival Albuquerque NM Oct 2006

Linette and I flew down to meet her good friend Diane at Pennie's daughter Marlas - wow, that's a mouthful! We anticipated seeing balloons, but due to bad weather, they were grounded. Very, very disappointing. Almost as disappointing as this capitol building - we drove around it several times because it simply looks like a birthday cake.
One of the reasons they call it New Mexico is so you don't think you're in Mexico. We ended up at the airport early and got on a non-stop flight home. Ah, love the non-stop flights.

October 2006 - NH and VT

This time we took Dallas, Shannon, Vinny and Owen to Vermont, to look at leaves. We also enjoyed the granite quarry, a night in Ogunquit, and other fun fall things. We attended the Columbus Day dinner in Stowe, took a fun bike ride, and frogs on the freeway at night in the rain.

This is Ms Maggie. She doesn't like her tutu - it kills her! On a positive note, it helps keep her sedated when she gets her manicures.

NH, VT, MA and ME May 2006

Tim and I went to New Hampshire for an early Summer trip. It rained the entire time (100 yr storm). We did a lot of driving, had good food, and saw the 4 respective capitol buildings. Whenever you're in a capitol city, go see the building- it's often the best looking building in the city. We stayed on the ocean in Ogunquit ME, and at a fun B&B in Montpelier VT.

Free Cruise! April 2006

So this is me on a cruise with some girl friends. My good friend Sharon Neu called me Wednesday night to see if I could be in San Diego Friday. Viola! Had a super sweet Ocean view Suite, ported in San Fran (going under to Golden Gate was great), and ended in Vancouver BC. We had terrible weather from San Fran north and ported about 8 hours late into BC. We ended up driving home through the night from Seattle. I highly recommend the unlimited Spa pass - the heated tile lounge chairs were great. And we did lots and lots of Kareoke - Sharon is queen of Kareoke.

The travel logs begins - March 2006

Kate at Milford Sound, South Island, New Zealand March 2006 (back when $1 US got us $1.6 NZ!). We toured both islands in about 2 1/2 weeks. The food was OK, I drove 2200 miles on the wrong side of the road, went Zorbing, and came home with bed bug bites!

More posts...Here's one in San Francisco

Here's me in July, 2007 in San Francisco's China Town. If I can, i'll try and figure out how to put this post in the correct date order. Since the screen writers are on strike, maybe they'll read my blog and decide not to hire me, but to hire other better writers like Shannon, Liz, or Kara? Who knows...is Conan really that funny or does he just have writers? But wait, Conan is a writer, so does he write for his own show? As you can tell from reading this, I write for my own blog. Ironically, I can write any kind of paper for school but can't seem to write some type of public journal entry. Oh well...

WHOAAAaaaaaa

Today we met former President Bill Clinton!!!! He spoke at the U. It cost $50 to attend the fundraiser. We met him after his 45 minute speech. I thought Tim was going to pass out - all his life's dreams are now complete!
It was awesome.
