And so my cucumber turned inti a baseball bat and this weird little
squash thing got bigger and weirder.
If you need tomatoes, please come get them or else they'll rot and die.

Keeping a pig at bay...
Harley was done eating but he was torturing Maggie by guarding the
food. For some reason, Maggie respects Harley and his food.
I asked Harley if he was done and he got up and let Maggie finish.

This is heaven
Except it's 100 degrees today. So that makes it the opposite of
heaven:) Liz, my mom and I are having a great time at Disneyland.

My selfish little sissy:)
I asked Liz if she'd share her shirt so I didn't have to have Alja buy
me one too. Liz said 'what' and I repeated 'share your shirt' and then
the conversation repeated several times. So, shes not going to share
her shirt:) She's the baby- gotta love her!

Slight disappointment
So, this is St Lawrence chapel in Dragomere. Our three great grandma
should've been here but the headstone couldn't be found. I'm so
disappointed. We think the cemetery mustve put somebody else on top of
where she was.
She raised our great grandma who walked 20 miles round trip everyday
to roll cigars in Ljubljana.
I was really looking forward to seeing her and am totally bummed we didn't.

Best dressed for today
Although I've worn the same outfit for 12 days, at least it's a little
classier than this cute number.

Pink Floyd??
Our cousin Tina loves Pink Floyd. Her parents found this 'Dark Side of
the Moon' record album and gave it to her for her birthday. It
literally made her cry. Her birthday is tomorrow but the tradition is
to celebrate the night before.

View to Soca River Valley
This area was hugely involved in WWI. This hike was to the top of a
strategic military something. We also went to the best WWI museum in
the world in a little town. The Slovenes had a tough place in the war
because they were split between the opposing country lines of Austria
and Italy, so brothers fought brothers.
Which is why in around 1920, my great grandma Jennie Jarc Fercik
immigrated to the US.

Some cave in Slovenia
I'm officially calling myself sick. I got super car sick yesterday and
woke up with a stomach ache still. For those nerds out there, I've had
bonine, pepto, nexium, and advil (for my back). And I finally
convinced Alja we actually have to eat real food.
Liz lands in two hours!!! Wahoo!

For Sara Wait
This is just one flavor of the incredible Magnum bar- triple
chocolate. Some come with nuts, white chocolate, etc. For some crazy
reason they don't sell them in the states. Which, is ok because we'd
eat three a day at home. Here they cost $2. In Israel, kristy paid
$3.50. So, things are pretty reasonably priced.

Our new crew
Met these guys on the lightrail. Back left is power couple- she's a
district judge in El Paso and he's an anesthesiologist. This is a
famous Turkish meatball restaurant that was very good. It was nice to
have a conversation in English. English is very widely spoken here and
the people are incredibly friendly here.
We spent two hours at a Turkish Spa- let's just say these people are
very comfortable being naked:) No pictures from that.

From Asia with love
We rode the super awesome lightrail across some bridge to the new part
of Istanbul which is considered Asia. While on the train, 6 Americans
got on and we started to talk. They ended up taking us to lunch.

Kiev, Ukraine
This is us overlooking the lower half of the city.
Me at our hostel - I hand washed my 'outfit' and it's drying overnight. The beds are bad - I have to sleep not in the middle so I'm busy rotating left to right trying to prevent my body from going numb.
The exchange rate is nearly 8:1 US$ so we are
living like queens! I've only pulled money out once and I still have most of it and have enjoyed luxuries such as cabs and eating out.
