Don't use the tow rope at Alta for children
This was Tim and Owen at Alta today. It was a balmy 1*. Trying to hold Owen as we ventured up and down the tow rope was horrible. Once we got to the hill, it was great. But we should have just taken him to the top of the mountain. We did enjoy some blueberry yogurt for breakfast afterwards. Owen insisted on wearing my goggles. At the top of the hill he asked, "Katie, can't we just sled down?" As much as I would have liked to, we couldn't. The problem with the tow rope is the torque - it just about rips your arm off as you try and grab it. Another problem using the tow rope is if Owen's ski's get under yours, you suddenly find yourself doing the Chinese splits! Don't worry, I was able to fall and gain control. All in all, Tim spent a day with us and we had a great time - even Owen thinks so!
